“Mountain Lights” is an immersive large-scale art installation of light held in the summer, set in the vast nature of the all-season “Niseko Hanazono Resort” in Niseko, Hokkaido.
They are displayed along the summer-dormant ski slopes of Hanazono, and the light illuminating the foot of Mt. Niseko Annupuri is an art form of a genre unique to Bruce Munro, not unlike “illumination”.
The Niseko area boasts 9 golf courses, with 3 internationally acclaimed courses within the immediate Niseko area.
Meticulously designed, including one by Arnold Palmer, the courses offer panoramic views of the ski hill range and Mount Yotei, and the pleasantly mild summer, compared to the rest of Japan, ensures summer-round enjoyment.
Chalet Ivy Weiss, located on the ski hill range itself, is only a short stone’s through from one of most spectacular, and the largest; Hanazono Golf Course.
Experience the longest zipline in Japan, traveling over 100km/h for a breathtaking 1,700 meters!
With a total of three different courses, combined at well over 2km, the Hanazono Zipflight allows users to travel alongside each other with tandem lines. See Niseko’s Mount Yotei as though you were a bird flying across the range.
When all that snow melts, it channels into the spectacular Niseko riverways.
Offering a variety of grades for all levels of confidence, rafting has long been one of the most popular ways to see the Niseko landscape.
Explore the ancient, weathered and spectacular coastline of Hokkaido, including yawning cave systems and crystal clear water.
Take in the rugged coastline and watch the brilliant sunset over the Sea of Japan at the end of your tour.
Tours are run by a seasoned guide who knows the coastline like the back of their hand, and can be tailored for ability.
Niseko has become a bikers paradise in recent years, whether it’s on road or off, electric or pedal power, the Niseko landscape is blessed with variety for everyone, and a huge scene has built up around it.
Whether you’re into competitive racing, with acclaimed races like the Gran Fondo, or looking to experience a different way to get down the ski hill, Niseko’s offerings are wide and diverse.
With a wide range of downhill & off road trails, and safe roads, Niseko cycling can be an experience for all ages and abilities.
Additionally, bike rentals, selected specifically for the areas terrain and preference, are readily available.
The reason for Niseko’s glorious rise to international acclaim; it’s splendid mountain range.
With hiking courses for all strengths and interests, the Niseko mountains are as spectacular on foot as they are on skis, and Hokkaido’s more temperate climate allows for enjoying these walks throughout the summer. Tracks are well maintained, so age or ability is no barrier, and guides offer access directly from the hotel.
Hokkaido is fast becoming one of the world wine destinations, in the very area of its long acclaimed whisky.
Whether it’s to fascinate in the process of production, or enjoy the fruit of its labor, wine tours are a wonderful day out in neighboring Niseko areas.
Long known for it’s delectable produce, this is a superb opportunity to “discover” Hokkaido’s wine before the rest of the world. Tours accommodate families, including pre-school children, and include tasting.
Rest the legs, and enjoy the scenery from the comfort and sure-footedness of a seasoned local; a horse!
Passing through the native forest and foothills near Mount Yotei, roam on horseback with a guide and expert.
Try your hand at one of the world’s fastest growing sports, on a court a short drive from Chalet Ivy Weiss!
A thrilling mix of tennis and squash, Padel offers dynamic rallies, unpredictable bounces, and a unique style of play that’s both accessible and addictive.
